February Newsletter …………… Love is in the air!!!!
February! It’s a time for romance and friendship and a show of love to those you know. At DFP we too are getting ready to have a fantastic month. To help you decide what to get for your partner… what about Salsa Dance classes? We are starting our new Salsa line-up of classes with Luis Gutierrez and Kelly Foston. Starting February 17th.
Luis and I have each been teaching dance for over 20 years. So that’s a total of 40 years of dance experience in each class. WOW!!! You will have a fun and easy time learning how to social dance while meeting new people and finding out about locations to go dancing in the lower mainland. We have Beginners, Intermediate and a very special Styling, Tricks and Dips class. All levels are welcome and no partner is required. We will also be having a Salsa and Bachata demonstration at Chai Gallery February 12 for their Mystic Romance Evening. This event is a fast seller for a Romantic evening. Coming up in early March is our next line up of Salsa Classes and an exciting Performance from “Nessa V” at the Gossip Nightclub. DFP will be there hosting and co-coordinating the event with Gossip Nightclub and DJ Rizk. March 7th she will be celebrating the completion of her video…and we get to join her VIP style. There will be a live performance by Ache Brazil (Capoiera Dancers) and Brazilian Dancers, in costume, dancing a SPICY Samba. Not to mention the always stylish and fantastic Dance Divas! Get your tickets NOW…..only $15, only a small amount of tickets will be sold as a VIP for this event, and all this if followed by an after party!
March is also bringing another event by Mad About Mambo….super exciting guest from out of town (I am VERY excited about this guest Salsa Instructor) and another fantastic instructor Roger Chen and myself will be starting a different series of Salsa Classes on Wednesdays starting March 4th. Cheers! For a fantastic Year!
It is here everyone 2009 and coming in full swing! I am proud to announce Diaspora Fusion Productions has fully merged with Rhodes Dance Studio and is offering a variety of Latin classes at the downtown studio. Along with the Latin classes at Rhodes a variety of additional styles of dance will also be offered. Special at Rhodes this month is another Dance Social by Mad About Mambo. It’s on Jan. 24th Leon Rose and partner Noemie Millon from London, England and Paris, France will be there. They will guide you through 3 excellent workshops at one location then the Social RHODES STUDIO (1125 Howe St.) from 8pm-1am, just enough time to freshen up. Also exciting for this year, we have 2 new instructors that will be working with us. Roger Chen and Luis Gutierrez. Please take a look at their profiles under “Instructors” to learn more about them and their skills they bring to DFP. Welcome to the both of you! I am so excited to be working with you both.
This New Year brings an exciting line of dance classes and instructors. Take a look at the “classes” page to see the new line up, start date and locations. This year is bigger and better then before. Along with supporting the new instructors working with DFP, each month there will be new surprises on the site, so check back often. We will be starting new classes for all ages and styles, shoes and the exciting clothing line. Ideal for practicing in a fun and alluring manner, designed to fit all shapes of woman. After all Sexy Silhouettes is ideal for the curve of a woman.
Although the New Year has started, remember February is Valentines month! Treat your partner to exciting dance classes (what a better way to connect that social dancing) clothing and dance shoes. Jump Start Movement! All new children’s classes are starting January 20th. Through dance and movement, children gain an awareness of and respect for their own and other cultures, enhance their self-esteem, express feelings, and co-operate with others. In these classes children are encouraged to create movement sequences used in different dance forms in response to a variety of stimuli, and have the opportunity experience different emotions through self expressed activities. Classes are adapted for grade school levels and are now available for childrens parties and events. Get a Jump Start on your childs’ movement and elementary development.

October is upon us…..yes it is so surprising how fast the months go by. There are some events for this month you may be interested in and of course you can always see the great shoes at www.sexysilhouettes.net and there are always changes on the www.diasporafusion.net site. Sexy Silhouettes will also be presenting a new clothing line in the next couple of months. Yes!!! We will be ready for the Christmas Season! So ladies if you want a sexy outfit for the Holidays you had better book in advanced.
As for this month….Halloween is coming. Have you thought of your Halloween Costume Yet. Let Diaspora Fusion assist you in making a great costume. Rentals start from only $60. Reserve your costume early!!
Heads up for New Years, We will be at the Wall Center co-assisting in an event. Doing it in STYLE!!! This is a formal event…so come get snazzied up and strut your stuff. I will be keeping everyone up to date regarding this big event. Come join me, it will be a fantastic event, guaranteed!

Hello everyone!
I hope everyone had a fantastic summer… full of family, friends, and community. September always brings a frenzy of back to school events and getting ready for the fall season. Diaspora Fusion Productions is in the midst of some big projects as well (we will keep you informed) I will be sending out this monthly newsletter to keep everyone informed of the current events Diaspora Fusion Productions and Sexy Silhouettes is involved with.

Diaspora Fusion Productions has a vision of bringing ethnic culture and diversity together through a community of dance, music, movement and costume.
Our Mission
Diaspora Fusion Productions is committed to reaching out to all communities and developing a relationship of acceptance and support. It strives to inspire others to experience the joy of dance and movement when fusing together different styles and ethnic forms. We are strong in our intentions of providing assistance to those wishing to pursue dance of ethnic forms, and to empower individuals to pass on their knowledge.
Diaspora Fusion Productions will continue to explore and empower others to express their identity, build confidence and explore the areas of social dance. We encourage the communication between two bodies, the relationship between men and women in a way that expresses dignity, respect, confidence, allowing our inner light to shine, and a vehicle to transcend the separation between the vast cultures our city is home to. Bringing together diverse ethnic backgrounds to a safe environment where cultures can be shared, explored, and celebrated

This is a co-op group of all female dancers that have joined forces to create a sexy, energetic, strong, muti-talented group of dancers. They all manage, choreograph, and perform for the team. They have a hot new style of pussycat/hiphop/jazz fusion….need I say more.
